ABOUT

SEHA is a sanctuary for embodied awakening, where movement, sound, ritual, and presence become medicine.
Founded by Yogini Maya Joy, SEHA offers a path of physical, emotional, and spiritual embodiment — drawing on practices rooted in Yoga, Tantra, Shamanic healing, and ancestral ceremony. Whether through ShaktiFlow™ movement, Vocal Alchemy, conscious dance, or constellation work, each offering is designed to reconnect you with the wisdom of your body and soul.
SEHA is not a quick-fix or a performance. It is a slow, sacred return. A remembering.
A place where healing becomes art — and art becomes a way of life.

Founder of the School for Embodied Healing Arts
A Path Rooted in Embodiment and Ceremony
Maya Joy is a modern-day medicine woman, yogini, and musical mystic. She founded SEHA to share the healing power of embodiment through yoga, dance, sound, and sacred ritual.
A Return to the Soil of South Africa
After more than 8 years abroad, Maya returned to South Africa in 2011 — a homecoming that marked the beginning of her full-time work in the healing arts. She began teaching yoga and Shakti Dance®, while also offering mantra, kirtan, and sound journeys.
Deep Apprenticeship and Lineage Training
Maya has completed a 9-year apprenticeship in Cherokee-based soul retrieval and extraction with Lyn De La Motte of Spirit Eagle School. She trained in Kashmiri Tantra and BlissDance with Dr Shakti Malan, completed Family Constellations training with African Constellations, and is certified in IFS Coaching.
A Living Synthesis of Sound, Movement & Healing
Maya continues to teach and evolve her own modalities — including ShaktiFlow™, YogaFlow, Vocal Activation, and Embodied Constellations. Her sessions weave together embodied presence, ancestral wisdom, and shamanic ritual as portals to healing and transformation.
